Nelson Stewart, the FIRE that made SMOKE, will be making a special appearance at New Paris Speedway next Saturday, August 27th racing in our Elite Distributors Late Model Sportsman division in a Lippert Components sponsored machine. Nelson is still an avid Legends driver who makes time to compete regularly when his schedule allows.
Nelson's son, Tony Stewart, is a 3-time Nascar Sprint Cup Champion who won a quarter-midget race at New Paris in 1991. Now 25 years later, Nelson will try his hand on the quarter-mile speedway.
The Late Model Sportsmans will be going 50 laps for $1,000 to win in the Paul Miller Memorial race. The FWD's will be going 25 laps for $200 to win. The Hobby Stocks will be going 40 laps and the Mini Stocks will be going 25 laps for Season Championship Night. The highest finisher out of the 4 remaining Chase drivers will be crowned the season champion.
There will be an on track autograph session that will take place at 7pm as part of our Season Championship Night celebration.
Gates open at 1pm, hot laps at 3pm, qualifying at 4:30pm and the autograph session will begin on the track at 7pm. The Paul Miller Memorial race will take the track at 9pm!
