2008 MINI-STOCK RULES

REFER TO RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER, GENERAL SAFETY, AND TRACK RULES

1. BODY

A. MUST BE A SUBCOMPACT, 4-CYLINDER MODEL. (NO FIREBIRD, CAMARO, FAIRMONT, ETC.) STATIONS WAGONS AND PICKUPS ALLOWED. NO CONVERTIBLES OR 4-WHEEL DRIVES.
B. NO REAR ENGINE OR MID-ENGINE MODELS!
C. ALL CARS MUST BE STOCK, STREET LEGAL, NO MODIFICATIONS OF ANY KIND. OFFICIALS DISCRETION IS FINAL.
D. BODY MUST BE SHEET METAL AND FULLY STOCK APPEARING, NO ALUMINUM OR FIBERGLASS. NO ALTERATIONS OF ANY KIND. ROOF, WINDSHIELD POST, AND COWL MUST REMAIN STOCK. OFFICIALS DISCRETION IS IS FINAL. PICKUPS MUST ENCLOSE BED. HATCHBACK CARS, OK TO REMOVE REAR WINDOW FRAME. IF REMOVED, REPLACE DECK PORTION WITH SHEET METAL TO RETAIN STOCK APPEARANCE. MAY NOT LOWER OR TILT ROOFLINE. STOCK APPEARING AFTER MARKET NOSES ARE ALLOWED.
E. DOORS MUST BE WELDED OR BOLTED SHUT.
F. EXCEPT WINDSHIELD, REMOVE ALL GLASS, MOLDING, AND LENS. DON’T BREAK IT OUT, REMOVE IT! ALL CARS MUST HAVE FULL WINDSHIELD. NO REAR WINDOWS ALLOWED!
G. SAFETY CONSTRUCTED 4-POST ROLL CAGE WITH MINIMUM OF THREE BARS ON DRIVER’S SIDE DOOR AREA AND ONE BAR ON PASSENGER SIDE.
H. FULL FLOORBOARD MUST REMAIN INTACT. MUST HAVE FIRE WALL BETWEEN DRIVER AND ENGINE AND BETWEEN DRIVER AND FUEL TANK. EXCEPT FIRE WALLS, NO INTERIOR SHEET METAL.
I. FENDERS MAY BE TRIMMED FOR TIRE CLEARANCE ONLY.
J. NO HOLES IN HOOD FOR AIR CLEANER.
K. HOOD AND TRUNK MUST HAVE HOOD TYPE PINS. NO BOLTING DOWN!
L. NO SPOILERS OR FRONT AIR DAMS OR ANY KIND! EVEN IF STOCK.
M. STOCK-TYPE A-ARMS, STRUTS, AND BALL JOINTS ONLY!
N. CARS MUST REMAIN ORIGINAL TRACK WIDTH AS MANUFACTURED.
O. NO AFTERMARKET BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLIES.
P.  MINIMUM WEIGHT OF CAR AFTER RACE IS 2400 LBS. NO BOLT IN BALLAST WEIGHT.

2. ENGINE
A. ENGINE MUST BE 4-CYLINDER, CARBURETOR FED, HOLLEY 4412'S WILL BE ALLOWED. ENGINE MUST REMAIN IN STOCK LOCATION.
B. SINGLE CARBURETORS ONLY, NOT TO EXCEED 2 BARRELS, CARBURETORS MUST REMAIN STOCK FOR MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR. NO REWORKING, GRINDING, OR ALTERING OF STOCK CARBURETOR IN ANY WAY!  FULL CHOKE BUTTERFLY (IF APPLICABLE) MUST REMAIN INTACT AND MUST BE WIRED OPEN. MAXIMUM 1" CARBURETOR SPACER, INCLUDING GASKETS.
C. CARBURETOR MAY BE IMPOUNDED AND /OR CONFISCATED BY THE OFFICIALS FOR A PERIOD OF SEVEN DAYS FOR INSPECTION PURPOSES.
D. INTAKE AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD MUST BE OF STOCK MANUFACTURERS ORIGINAL CAST IRON. NO ALUMINUM, NO HEADERS OF ANY KIND, EVEN IF STOCK.
E. FUEL INJECTION MAY BE RUN ON FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CARS ONLY.
F. EXHAUST MUST BE SINGLE AND COMPLETELY SEALED.  MUST GO PAST DOORS, LAST 6" OF EXHAUST PIPE NOT TO EXCEED 1-1/2" INNER DIMENSION.  EXHAUST MUST BE VISIBLE.  NO FLEX PIPES.
G. IGNITION SYSTEM MUST REMAIN STOCK.  NO AFTERMARKET IGNITIONS.  AFTERMARKET CAP & WIRES ALLOWED.
H. NO RACING CLUTCHES.
I. A 2" HOLE MUST BE CUT IN BELL-HOUSING TO CHECK FOR STOCK CLUTCHES, CLUTCHES MUST BE VISIBLE.                                               

J.  NO RACING TRANSMISSIONS.


3. FUEL SYSTEM
A. FUEL CELL STRONGLY RECOMMENDED, FUEL TANK MUST BE SAFELY SECURE WITH 4 STEEL STRAPS. (MUST PASS INSPECTORS DISCRETION OR WILL NOT RACE.) IF MOVING FUEL CELL/TANK INTO HATCHBACK TRUNK OR PICKUP BED, YOU MUST BUILD A FIREWALL TO FULLY CONTAIN UNIT. OFFICIALS DISCRETION IS FINAL. PICKUPS MAY REINFORCE BED TO PROTECT FUEL CELL. NO PLASTIC TANKS OF ANY KIND OR IN ANY LOCATION. IF FUEL CELL IS USED, IT MUST BE COMPLETELY ENCLOSED IN STEEL CAN.
B. STEEL LINES OR BRAIDED HOSE MUST BE USED AS FUEL LINE FROM FUEL SOURCE TO FUEL PUMP. NO FUEL LINE IN COCKPIT AREA.


4. TIRES & WHEELS
A. ANY 70, 75, OR 80 SERIES D.O.T. RADIAL TIRE, 195 OR SMALLER.
B. MAXIMUM 6" WIDE STEEL WHEELS. SAFETY WHEELS RECOMMENDED ON RIGHT SIDE (MAY NOT EXCEED WIDTH RULE) OVERSIZE LUG NUTS (1" OR LARGER MANDATORY ON ALL WHEELS.

5. MISCELLANEOUS
A. NO WEIGHTS MAY BE ADDED TO CAR.
B. FRONT OR REAR WHEEL DRIVE WITH 3,4 OR 5 SPEED OR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.  NO QUICK CHANGE
TYPE OR TRICK AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS OR REAR ENDS. NO FOUR-WHEEL DRIVES.
C. MUST HAVE 4-WHEEL OPERATING BRAKES, MUST BE FACTORY STOCK BRAKE SYSTEM.
D. CAR AND DRIVER MUST MEET ALL SAFETY RULES OR WILL NOT RACE.  ANY DEVIATION OF THESE RULES IS LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE OFFICIALS AND THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.
